It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard New of Smithville, Texas, born in Cedar Creek, Texas, who passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Howard departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Howard may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Howard leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alfred New and Mary Willie Wolf; his grandson Kenneth Williams; his great grandchild Jade; and his siblings, Robert, Luther, Berniece and Wilburn.
He is survived by: his children, Tamra New of Smithville, TX and Jerry New of Santa Monica, CA; and his grandchildren, Amy Williams McKay and Patrick Owen (Kat). He is also survived by 5 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson; a sister.
