He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Rubach, Sr. and Albina Kovar Dalchau (Kovar); and his brother-in-law Leroy Jakubik. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Broesche Rubach; his children, Merideth Rubach (Sam Bailey) and Robert Rubach, III (Miranda); his granddaughter Hadley Rubach; and his sisters, Margaret Jakubik (Rubach) and Birdie Young (Rubach). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
