He was predeceased by: his parents, David Leroy Hammit and Sarah Bishop Hammit. He is survived by: his wife Rita Hammit; his children, Ricky (Angela Hammit), Joey (Amy Hammit) and Angela (Gregory Abell); his siblings, Kathy (Ronnie Block), Patsy Eaker and David (Doris Hammit); his brother-in-law Don Schattel; and his sister Carol Schattel. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Miller Family Funeral Home (200 E 37th St, Snyder, TX 79549). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel (200 E 37th St, Snyder, TX 79549).
