Carol Short Obituary
We announce the death of Carol Short of Spearman, Texas, who passed away on October 14, 2026, at the age of 88. Carol will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Harbour and Helen Harbour; and her siblings, Shirley Smith, Betty Mitchell and Butch Harbour.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cathy Brown (Doug) of Spearman, Lori Scroggs of Amarillo and Patti Schnell (Mike) of Spearman; her grandchildren, Brace Scroggs, Jessica Brown, Amy D'Zamko, Tyler Schnell and Ryan Schnell; and her great grandchildren, Boston Scroggs, Emma, Kaiden, Kolton, Everly D'Zamko, Blake, Logan, Nathan Schnell and Rein Schnell.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home (519 S Evans St, Spearman, TX 79081). A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Hansford Cemetery (9979 TX-15, Spearman, TX 79081). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (123 S Bernice St, Spearman, TX 79081).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hansford Hospice, 712 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081; and/or the Empty Stocking Fund at Hansford Manor, 707 Roland, Spearman, TX 79081.
