He is survived by: his wife Joann Dermott; and his children, Harold Dettmer II (Heidi) of Spearman, James Dettmer of Spearman, Steven (Chris Dettmer) of Spearman, Tina (Emmanuel Miranda) of Austin, TX and Diana (Peter Callen) of New York. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
