He is survived by: his wife Lydia Scherer (Loftus); his daughter Katie Vaubel (Ryan); his grandchildren, Gavin, Emma and Lucas Vaubel; his daughter Sarah Quella (John); his grandchildren, Jacob and Kendall Larson; his stepson Ross Scherer (Anna Herby); and his brothers, Richard Anderson (Lisa) and Darrell Anderson (Susie).
