He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucie Jane and Charles Bittinger; his son Travis Joseph Bittinger; and his stepmother Joan Bittinger. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Payne Bittinger; his children, Lisa Guidry (Bo) of Jasper, TX, Rob Bittinger (Rebecca) of The Woodlands, TX, Jason Green (Felecia) of Spring, TX. and Alicia Green of Spring, TX.; his grandchildren, JT, Brittany, Ryan, Rhett, Reese, Kaleb, Todd, Zaden, Jalynn, Jada, Jay, Jayce and Jaxson; his siblings, Cal Bittinger (Teresa) of Stillwater, OK, Clay Bittinger (Jackie) of Lincoln, NE, Carolyn Simmons (Joe) of Orange, TX and Cheryl Wiemer (Mike) of Lincoln, NE; his mother-in-law Dee Payne of Orange, TX; and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Payne (Jeanne) of Dripping Springs, TX, Jon Payne (Leah) of Bridge City, TX and Kris Cherry of Orange, TX.. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (644 State Highway 272, Deweyville, TX 77614). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
