He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Hurst Sr. and Florene Anita (Hall); his siblings, Suzann Saxon and David Hurst; his son-in-law Billy Shipp; and his grandson Jadin Crowley.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Hurst (Keely); his children, Shelley Brown (John), James Hurst III, Rodney Hurst (Gena) and Mellissa Maness (Malcolm); and his brother Gary Hurst. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Alexander's Midway Funeral Home (3607 E Hwy 199, Springtown, TX 76082). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
