He was predeceased by: his daughter Leslie D'Ann Gilliland; his parents, Howard Gilliland and Mildred Gilliland (Passmore); and his sister Margaret Lehman. He is survived by: his wife Juanita Sneed Gilliland; and his children, Howard "Tony" Gilliland (Linda) and Sheri Gilliland Callaway (Doug). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren who knew him as both "Granddaddy".
