He was predeceased by : his brother Johnnie Clay. He is survived by : his wife Judy Arnold of Spur; his children, Mike Clay (Paula) of Saginaw and Melanie McCormick (Philip) of Spur; his grandchildren, Garrett, Wyatt, Wylie and Sydney; his siblings, Alford Clay (JoAnne) of Granbury, Jean Shaw (Dennis), Gail Robert of Dickens, Kathy Higginbotham of Wellington, Martha Shipman (Clifford) of Brownwood and Patricia Hart (DeWayne) of Granbury; and his sister-in-law Karla Clay of Blum.

“To Judy and the family, I loved Dexter. He was a member of my graduating class in 1963, and I can still see his slow smile and hear his unique voice. I will always remember his kindness when I and my family would come to Spur for reunions or to see Leslie when he was there. May God comfort each of you and bring sweet memories to your minds. I am praying for you all. Kathy Hurst White”
