He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Homer Bailey and Artie Lee Eledge; his brothers, Homer Elmer Bailey and Alton Ed Bailey; his stepson Timothy Shane Davidson; his nephew James Lee Bailey; and his great grandchild Witten James Rollins.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Gayle Bailey of Spurger, Texas; and his children, Troy Bailey of Cleveland, Alfred Hughes (Karen) of Alabama, Yulanda Cowan (Jay) of Livingston, Kyla Robinson of Spurger, Beverly Hazelwood (Marty) of Carthage, Michelle Bailey of Livingston, Shellena Hebert (Ronnie) of Louisiana and Carla Gearhart (Gary) of Cleveland, Texas. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren.

Funerals are currently a public event being held during the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
