He was predeceased by: his wife Karen; his parents, Pulliam (Anne) and Arlis Simpson (Audrey) of Amarillo; his stepmother Katie Fields of Hutchinson, Minnesota; his grandmother Pearl Knudsen of Dalhart; his sisters, Jackie Tiner (Jim) of Whitesboro and Renee Fisk of Bandera; his brother-in-law Sonny Gentry of Bandera; and his stepbrothers, Mike Asher (Beverly) of Griggs, Oklahoma and Sam Asher of Kerrick.
He is survived by: his sons, Ronald Dean, Pulliam (Eileen) of Panhandle and Johnny Wayne "JockO" Pulliam of Stratford; his siblings, Vickie Gentry of Bandera, Lisa Warner of Thomasboro, Illinois and Greg Simpson (Marilyn) of Houston; and his stepbrother Tommy Asher (Becky) of Stratford. He is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
