He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Nix and Joyce Nix; and his grandparents, R. D., Vera Nix, Valton and Beula Coker.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Harper; his sons, Cameron Nix of Sudan and Mark Nix of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and his sister Nancy Dawson (Ken) of Tulia, Texas. He is also survived by his five nephews and five nieces.
