He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Wilson and Lola Mae Sims (Cox); and his siblings, L. L., Richard, Florene and Juanita.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Skypala; his children, Mark Sims (Kathy) of Amarillo, TX, Yvonne Schmitz of Ft. Myers, FL, Lynette Finchum (Terry) of Amarillo, TX and Bryan Sims (Melinda) of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren, Josh Sims (Tisha) of Amarillo, TX, Marissa Whitman of Amarillo, TX, Tyler Finchum (Alex) of Palo Alto, CA, Ashley Baker (Colton) of Orange, TX, Clayton and Phillip Sims of Oklahoma City, OK; and his great grandchildren, Joey, Melody, Connor, Adam, Everett and Tatum.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Morrison Memorial Chapel (1015 S Dumas Ave, Dumas, TX 79029).
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests with gratitude, that memorials be donated to the Amarillo VA, made to Amarillo Voluntary Service (135) in memory of Andrew David Sims.
