He was predeceased by : his parents, Joe Marvin and Mary VanHoose (White); his brother Marvin Lee VanHoose; his granddaughter Koti Jo Redder; his niece Kerrie Lee VanHoose; and his nephew Jim Bo VanHoose.

He is survived by : his wife Kathy Sue VanHoose; his daughters, Shanel Bay VanHoose of Sunset and Syndi Ryann VanHoose of Paradise; his granddaughter Ella May Redder of Paradise; his brother Jimmy Ray VanHoose (Nora) of Chico; and his nieces, Tammy VanHoose Martin of Norman, OK and Thresia Crisp of Decatur, TX.
