He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Catherine; his siblings, Mack Culpepper and Sue Cote (Culpepper); and his brother-in-law Larry Doolen. He is survived by: his father Herman Mack Culpepper; his wife Fredell Culpepper; his sister Beth DeMott (Ron); his sister-in-law Carla Doolen; his children, Amy Marroquin (Marcus) and Kent Culpepper (Carrie); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel Marroquin, Libby and Will Culpepper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
