James Roger Hensley Obituary

We bid farewell to James Roger Hensley of Sweeny, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 8, 2025 at the age of 80. James Roger touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Homer and Lucile Hensley (Fry); and his brother Ronald Fry Hensley. He is survived by: his significant other Linda Hensley (Sandridge); his children, James "Derek" Hensley (Karen) of Victoria, TX, Roger "Eric" Hensley (Tricia) of Lovelady, TX and Keri Sue Fovargue (Ronald) of Humble, TX.; his grandchildren, Macayla Wright, James "Brett" Hensley (Kasidy), Sgt. Connor Fovargue, Grace Fovargue, Sarah Hensley and Katie Sue Fovargue; and his great grandchild James "Beaux" Hensley. He is also survived by sisters in law, brother in law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Sweeny (402 N Main St, Sweeny, TX 77480). Viewing will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sweeny Cemetery (1654 N Main St, Sweeny, TX 77480).
