He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth Lee Setzer, Sr.; his parents-in-law, Boyce Kennedy and Sandy Kennedy; and his brother-in-law Tim Effenberger. He is survived by: his mother Betty Setzer; his wife Debra Kennedy Setzer; his sons, Kenneth (Hannah) and Hunter Setzer (Kendall); his sisters, Kimberly Effenberger, Deanna Ramirez (Marcus) and Jana Zimmerhanzel (Mike); his siblings-in-law, Dianna Kennedy and Andy Benbenek; and his grandchildren, Lane, Leighton, Gruene, Colter and Grey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the New Shores Church (6303 Farm to Market Rd 1459, Sweeny, TX 77480). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Shores Baptist Church (6303 Farm to Market Rd 1459, Sweeny, TX 77480). A burial was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at the Sweeny Cemetery (1654 N Main St, Sweeny, TX 77480).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sweeny ISD Athletic Booster Club, Sweeny ISD Education Foundation, or Sweeny ISD Walk of Honor.
