He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur Laake and Frieda Laake (Kroeger); his brother Arthur Laake; his wife Judy Milam Laake; his children, Teresa Krause (Brett), Stephen Laake (Connie Millard), Harvey (Clay) and Tammy Laake (Gary Reimers); his sister Barbara Laake Zieschang (Morris); his sister-in-law Bonnie Milam Machu (Howard); his grandchildren, Meghan Laake Caskey (Corey), Tyler Laake, Travis Laake, Sarah Laake Miles (Tyler) and Zachary Jung; and his great grandchild Cade Caskey. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Harvey lived a vibrant and full life even with the challenges of Parkinson's Disease the last eight years.
