He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Dawson and Hazel Dawson (Foster); his son Randy Lee Dawson; his great grandchildren, William Chance and Sean Bradley McNutt; and his sisters, Imogene Ferguson and Charlene Little.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Fay Price Dawson; his sister Dorothy Nance of Waxahachie; his daughters, Brenda Noland (Bob) of Dew and Penny Stephenson (Gordon) of Donie; and his grandchildren, Amanda Puckett (Doug), Michael Dawson (Allison), Wendi McNutt (Josh), Bobby Noland Jr. (Ashley), Will Stephenson (Stephanie), Randy Dawson Jr. (Ashley), Justin Stephenson (Margaret), Lerisa Dawson, Jamie Trautman and Gina Dawson. He is also survived by 34 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
He later went on to lead Sunday morning worship at the Cowboy Heritage Church of Freestone County for 6 years, Wednesday night worship at Cedar Stone and was part of the worship team at Freestone Cowboy Church until covid hit.
