He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda Burks; his children, Kerry Burks and Debbie Strader; his grandson Korey Burks; his parents, Roy Burks and Bertha Burks; and his sister Willie Louise.
He is survived by: his son Joey Burks (Becky) of Teague; his grandchildren, Mike Strader (Leah), Kerrisa Burks Ryan, Angie McAdams (Tony), Keitha Whitaker, Kensey Tucker (Bruce), Kylen Burks and Kelsie Palmore (Chase); his sister-in-law Myrtle McSwane; and his pet Judy. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren.
