He was predeceased by : his son Brandon Whitmire; his father Sam Goodwin; and his siblings, Johnny Goodwin, Sammy Goodwin and Teresa McCain.

He is survived by : his wife Terri Goodwin of Teague; his children, Leah Goodwin of Teague, Zach Goodwin of Teague, Ty Goodwin of Teague and Kenneth Whitmire of Mexia; his mother Leah Stephens of Teague; and his siblings, Danny Goodwin of Palestine, Patricia Smith-Etheridge of Teague and Pam Chavez of Houston. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
