She was predeceased by: her parents, John Barkley and Viola Gardner Barkley; her husband Guy Van; and her children, Virginia and Ernest.
She is survived by: her children, Elaine, Shirley, Richard and Ralph (Charlene); and her grandchildren, Sheila, Shon (Sheila), Calvin, Kimberly (Keith), Genesis (Brandon), Joy, Charity (Benjamin), Robert (Adriane), Mark and Brittany. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
