He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Speck and Carrie Speck; and his wife Phyllis Jenkins Speck. He is survived by: his daughters, Shelli Hellinghausen (Marc) and Traci Davis (Brad); and his grandchildren, Corey Rogan (Audrey), Nikki Rogan, Kali Dick (J. T.) and Logan Hellinghausen (Riley). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Family Promise of Bell County which is a ministry to the homeless where Edward served alongside Phyllis as she coordinated the ministry for 4 years at their local church, First Baptist Belton.
