He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Frank Ortiz, Sr.; his brother Mario Ortiz; his wife Mary Moncado; his daughters, Francesca Ortiz, Ashley Vargas (Leroy), Jennifer Gutierrez and Patricia Moncada (Juan Zavala); his mother Guadalupe Leiba; and his siblings, Estella Rocha (Jose), Diane Castillo (Edward), Julia Banda (Frank), Nancy Ortiz, Santos Castillo (Jose), Lupe Ortiz (Juan Ramos), Cecelia Ortiz-Yanez (Rickey), Lydia Cabrera (Irineo) and Porfiria Salazar.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Mission Funeral Home - East Side (1615 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702). A rosary was held on Wednesday, February 18th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1206 E 9th St, Austin, TX 78702). A committal service was held on Thursday, February 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Assumption Cemetery (3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704).
