He was predeceased by: his parents, Genaro Castillo and Edubiges Castillo; his grandson Joseph Castillo; his son-in-law Jessie Gamboa; and his siblings, Alberto, Juventino, Genaro, Francisco, Josephina Castillo Chavez and Maria Castillo Munoz.

He is survived by: his wife Ofelia Garcia; his children, Leo Jr. (Gloria), Leonel (Elaina), Leonardo, Miguel Angel (Esmeralda), Edubiges (Ismael), Rosalinda (Romy), Ofelia (Daniel) and Christy (Jesse); and his brother Lauro Castillo. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
