He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Traugott Winkler and Amanda Boriack Winkler; his wife Florence Otillie Hanusch; and his sister Mildred Winkler Temple. He is survived by: his sister Betty Winkler Hester; and his sister-in-law Bernice Deaver. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple.
