He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Smith and Billie Smith; and his brother-in-law John Lynn Bulls. He is survived by: his sons, Greg (Lindsey) and Geoff Smith (Ashley); his siblings, Pamela Bulls, Randall Smith (Lezlie) and Lisa Smith; and his grandchildren, Rhett, Landry, Cooper, Chandler and Lucy. He is also survived by two nephews and two nieces.
