He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Ruiz and Obdulia Torres; and his siblings, Cristobal Ruiz Torres, Crescencio Ruiz Torres and Marcelina Ruiz Torres.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Ruiz; his children, Juan Ruiz (Mickie), Rolando Ruiz (Trish), Joe Ruiz (Charine), Ramon Ruiz (Robin), Anita Ruiz-Luna, Jason Sadler and Carlos Ruiz (Joselyn); and his siblings, Victoria Ruiz Torres, Josefa Ruiz Torres, Armandina Ruiz Torres, Ignacio Ruiz Torres and Nemecio Ruiz Torres. He is also survived by six children, 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
