He was predeceased by: his parents, William Otis and Ella Mae Benson; and his sister Nelda Moore. He is survived by: his wife Connie Burris Benson; his children, Robert Benson, Cerinia Smith (Tommy) and Mindy Bradford (Shannon); his stepsons, Charles Dycus (Sheri), John Dycus (Christi) and Will Hall; and his sister-in-law Jerry (Rose Wilson). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law.
