He was predeceased by: his wife Glenda F. Raines; and his siblings, James Raines (Doc), Jimmy Lee Raines, Georgia Robertson and Patsy Fullenwider.

He is survived by: his friend Red; his son John Raines; his daughter-in-law Marlies; his grandsons, Richard Cross and Justin Raines; his granddaughters-in-law, Tiffany and Celia; his granddaughter Gina Hammons (Chris); his daughter Donna Scrivner; his son-in-law Steve; and his granddaughter Melody Standokes (Willie). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
