He is survived by: his wife Martha Andrews; his daughters, Cynthia Lightfoot (Mitch) and Catherine Smith (Jack); his sister Elaine Stracener; his grandchildren, John, Alicia Penny, Rachel, Brandon Ryan, Kerry, Damon McAfee, Lance, Romina Hawkins, Carman, Chad Owens, Dani and Ed Pergolotti; his great grandchildren, Addilynn, Isabella, Lucas, Warren, Liam, Lucy, Mitchell, Frankie, Sam and Ellie; and his nieces, Lisa Carpenter Barber, Kimberly Stracener Martin, Dawn Hall Moses, Debbie Hall Stanley and Cassie Hall Nelson.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McWhorter Funeral Home (1074 TX-300, Gilmer, TX 75645). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
