He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emma Fort and Henry Fort; his wife Juanita; his brothers, Roy Fort Mesquite (Katie) and James Fort (Janie); his children, Sheila (Benny), Robert Jr. (Holly), LaMesa (Donnie), Cortez (Stephanie), Jean and Dean (Karen); his grandchildren, LaToya, Skylar, Amanda, Dallas, Deante, Zhane, Darius (Jada), Jamall, Taylor, Kai, Dequan (Deanna), Marquella, Jarmarkeith, Tasia and Tavon; his great grandchildren, Carter, Mecca, Harlee, Mina, Jace, Emma, Zaia B and Jamar Jr.; and his cousin Chuck Ellis.
