He was predeceased by : his parents, J. L. Smith and Winnie Applegate Smith; his wife Nelda Smith; and his son John Smith. He is survived by : his sons, Scott Smith and Mark Smith (Melissa); his grandchildren, Britney Knight, Scott Smith Jr. (Laura), Mandy Smith and Mark Smith Jr.; his great grandchildren, Haze Smith, Emerson Freeman, Dakota Beveridge, Dax Smith and Crew Smith; his daughter Jean Scott (James); his great grandchildren, Aubree and Brynlee Beveridge; and his siblings, Bobby Smith (Reanette), Ima Faber (Eddy), Dorothy Harper, Nelda Lewis and Thelma Fisher. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
