He was predeceased by: his parents, Horacio D. Barrera and Emma Gomez Barrera (Gomez); and his siblings, Joe Barrera, Guadalupe Barrera and Oralia Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Benjamin M. Barrera (Leslie), Brenda Lee Atteberry (Jason) and Justin M. Barrera (Sabrina); his siblings, Johnny Barrera, Hermelinda B. Anderson, Susan B. Best and Camila G. Barrera; and his grandchildren, Jakub, Kaylee, Lana, Aurya, Skylah, Saylor, Silas and Jayden.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church of the Overcomer (3310 E Main St, Alice, TX 78332). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
