He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bertice and Mary Frances Birdwell (Davis); his grandparents, Rob, Callie Mae Davis, Elbert and Evie Birdwell; his sister Kay Asher; his brother-in-law Jim McGhee; and his parents-in-law, Ben (Jodie) and Freda Bowlin.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Birdwell (Bowlin); his daughter Shelly Diane Carroll (Chris); his grandchildren, Carson Michael, Caelyn Ashley Carroll, Neela Jill, Ashwin James and Tanavi Ruth Birdwell; his sisters, Brenda McGhee and Kathy Penner; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis Penner and Michael Asher. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for missions and church planting to Fielder Church in Arlington, Keltys First Baptist Church in Lufkin, or Phoenix Bible Church in Phoenix Arizona.
