She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Townsend; her parents, Marshall Massey and Clara Massey; her stepparents, Frank and Edna Martin; her siblings, Marshal Massey Jr., Joyce Coker, Julie Fitch and Evelyn Chamberlin; and her granddaughter Melissa Townsend.
She is survived by: her sister Sherry Duncan (Jim); her children, Bonnie Cole (Jeff), David Townsend (Danielle) and Lori Dettenhaim (J. D.); and her grandchildren, Raymond Cole (Gina), Leslie Pafford (Steven), Clinton Carraway, Jennifer Wyeth (Daniel), Ashley Cogburn (Jason), Ethan, Adi Townsend, Raigan Champagne (Joshua), Brittian Bravo (Antonio), Rylee, Landyn Champagne and Easton Sassie. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
