He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie McElroy and Bessie McElroy; and his siblings, Gerald, Tucker, Darrell McElroy and Mae Gean Pettit (Billie Rix).
He is survived by: his wife Murel; his children, Nechelle and Blake; and his sister Marie "Dink" Lanham of Arp. He is also survived by Numerous other relatives and friends.
