He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil C. Day and Lucile Day; his in-laws, Lawrence and Velva Kelley; his siblings, Clayton Day (Barbara), J. W. Day (Mary Ann), Wayne Day, Kenneth Day, Louise Womack (Bob) and Rose Anna Loesch; and his son-in-law Bill Butterfield.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Day (Susan) of Gardendale, Linda Butterfield of Wintersville and Kim Givhan (Brad) of Whitney; his grandchildren, Jeremy Day of Gardendale, Zebadiah Butterfield of Wintersville, Ohio, Nicole Allison (Ryan) of Howland, Ohio, Bret and Typhani Givhan of St. Hedwig; his great grandchildren, Owen, Arran, Abbey Allison and Valerie Givhan; his siblings, Cecil Day (Eva) of Farmington, David Day (Judy) of Midland and Wanda Whitling of Weatherford; his close friends, Ralph Hicks and Fred Johnson; and his caregiver Ana Crowe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
