He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Thompson and Eleanor Thompson; and his grandson John Baggett (Jack). He is survived by : his wife Margaret; his son Douglas; his daughter-in-law Melissa Thompson; his daughter Pamela Thompson Baggett; his grandchildren, Sarah Baggett and William Baggett; his sister Carol; his brother-in-law Jerrell Wallace; his brother Bill; and his sister-in-law Janean Thompson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
