He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Joseph and Myrtle Thomasson (O'Quinn); his sisters, Joyce Eberhart, Jo Ann Gonzales and Frances Bradford; and his former wife Beverley Thomasson.

He is survived by: his wife DeLayne Thomasson of New Harmony; his children, Laurel Jones of Tyler and Grant Thomasson (Shannon) of Tyler; his stepson John Barron of New Harmony; his grandchildren, Crystal Jones (Eric), Heath Collen Cochran and Devon Jordan; his great grandchildren, Brave and Amelia; his stepgranddaughters, Bree Caplinger (Colton) and Sara Wallace (Collin); and his stepgreat-grandson Alex Caplinger. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the New Harmony Baptist Church building fund.
