She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Glenn McDowell and Bertie Mae McDowell (Grubb); her husband Elbert Earl "Bo" Smith; and her siblings, Blanche Vaden, Patrick McDowell, Jr., Bill McDowell, Bob McDowell, Jack McDowell and Gail Cox.
She is survived by: her children, Brian Smith (Suzanne) of Tyler and Janice Smith of Lake Jackson; her sister Patsy Sides of Salisbury; and her grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Mary-Elizabeth Langdon (Anthony), Seth Woodard and John Allan Woodard.
