He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval Bateman and Bonnie Bateman (Denton); and his brother Roger Dale Bateman. He is survived by: his wife Louise Bateman of Tyler; his son Coan Edward Bateman (Joyce) of Coolidge; his siblings, Pam Cartwright (Hank) of Florida and Jerry Bateman (Anna) of Canton; his grandchildren, Colbi Bateman and Tyler Bateman (Danielle); and his great grandchildren, Landyn Garcia, Brandon Barron, Aubrey Bateman, Gunar Bateman and Avery Bateman.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery (12053 State Hwy 64, Tyler, TX 75758).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA to help homeless pets.
