He was predeceased by: his parents, Chilton Homer and Ruby Louella Melton Stuart; his wife Tommie Hudson Stuart; his sister Nelwyn Thompson; his daughter Pamela Louise Stuart Barth; and his son-in-law Jack Vance.

He is survived by: his daughter Shawn Suzanne Springer-Vance of Tyler; his brothers, Chilton Homer Stuart Jr. (Judy) of Carthage and Jerry Dale Stuart (Debbie) of Henderson; his son-in-law Bobby Barth of Friendswood; and his grandchildren, Cami Shawn Hernandez, D. J. Clare and Zachary Benjamen Springer. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family suggests donations to the Antioch Cemetery in Panola County or Union Grove Cemetery in Troup, Texas.
