We are sad to announce that on April 22, 2024, at the age of 77, Galen E. Starkey of Tyler, Texas, born in McMinnville, Tennessee passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Galen E. Starkey to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Erma Capshaw and Herman Starkey. He is survived by : his wife Peggy Starkey of Tyler; his children, Sheridan Lorraine (Jim Rovira), Gala (Adam Brown) and Scotty; his daughter-in-law Amanda Starkey of Lindale, Texas; his grandchildren, Penn Rovira, Aurora Grace Rovira, Zoe Rovira, Samantha Brown, Jessica Brown Crawford, Sabrina Brown, Jarred Brown, Colleen Starkey Smith and Alyssa Starkey; and his sister Betty Martin of El Paso. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tyler Memorial Funeral Home (12053 TX-64, Tyler, TX 75704). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Christ (211 W Hubbard St, Lindale, TX 75771).

The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross in lieu of flowers.
