He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Smith and Hazel Hudson Smith; and his sons, Mark and Stephen Smith. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Melrose Murphey of Tyler; his former wife Joanne Henry; his daughter Stephanie Smith of Tyler; his stepdaughter Allyson Sullivan (Mark) of Tyler; his daughters-in-law, Pam Smith of Palestine and Karen Smith of Mabank; and his grandchildren, Shannen Smith of Tyler, Dr. Zachary, Kelsey Smith of San Antonio, Anna Sullivan of Frisco, Victoria, Thomas Johnson of Conroe, Margaux, Hunter Sanders of Tyler and Layla Sullivan of Austin. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
