She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond Lee "Buddy" Whitney, Jr.; and her grandson Duncan Leachman Whitney. She is survived by: her son Clayton E. Whitney; her grandson Russell Latimer Whitney (Carrie); her great grandchild James Stanford Whitney of Houston; her grandson Stewart Lee Whitney; her great grandchild Elizabeth York Whitney of Dallas; her granddaughter Claire Elizabeth Whitney of Houston; and her nieces, Carolyn Lockett McCrocklin (John) of San Marcos and Linda Lockett of Austin.
