With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jerry Blackburn in Tyler, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 25, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Blackburn and Erma Blackburn (Johnson); his brothers, Bill, Rayford and Jack Blackburn; and his siblings-in-law, Cheryl Stephens (Hutchings), Doug Hutchings and Carlos Hutchings.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Nell Hutchings of Winfield, Texas.; his sons, Bret Blackburn and Blair Blackburn (Michelle); his granddaughter Elizabeth Blair Fetrow (Chase); his siblings-in-law, Darla Cargile (Rodney), Ben Hutchings (Tonya) and Don Hutchings (Joyce); his niece Susie Regan (Blackburn); and his nephew Danny Blackburn.
In lieu of flowers, the Blackburn family suggests that donations could be made in memory of Jerry to East Texas Baptist University.
