With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laverne Richard Davis in Tyler, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 9, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Lawrence Davis and Sarah Elizabeth Smith Davis; his daughters, Rhonda Davis and Bridget Holt; and his grandson Christopher Erik.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ayers Davis; his children, Andy Davis (Connie) of Jacksonville, Allen Davis (Krystal) of Mansfield, Lori Motley (Donald) of Gilmer and Brenda Mitchell of Winnsboro; his sister Miriam Smith; his grandchildren, Ricky, Rhonda, Joshua, Mellisa, Amber, Megan, Ashley, Charlie, Dylan, Hailey and Ryne; and his great grandchildren, Wesley, Timothy, Brently, Hadley, Hendrix, Michael, Magnolia, Nova, June, Cassidy and Kyle.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Little Mound Baptist Church (11746 FM 49, Big Sandy, TX 75755).
