He was predeceased by: his parents, Corbin Freeman and Lela Ann Jones Freeman; his wife Rose Robinson Freeman; his brothers, James Freeman, Gerald Freeman and Dwight Freeman; and his sons, Calvin Buckner (Stinko) and Jimmy Don Monasco.

He is survived by: his children, Carol Tillery, Bobbie Jean Burks, Ann Severn, Richard Buckner and Nolan Buckner; and his siblings, Marion Freeman Steel, Roger Freeman and Priscilla Freeman Adair. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
